On the 4th March 2009, David was taking part in the online worldwide maths competition (World Maths Day) with more than 2 million other students aged from 5 to 18 years. Over 11 thousand students were participating from all over Spain.
To celebrate World Maths Day students from 204 different countries have been competing to answer questions as quickly and accurately as possible, break the record for the most number questions answered correctly in 48 hours.
Students had to answer as many mental maths questions in 60 seconds and could play against different schools from different countries
There are different levels (1 to 5) of mental maths questions for students of different ages.
David was competeing in Level 3 and has been averaging about 80 correct answers per minute and
with one point for every correct answer he has achieved 119,843 points in the competiton.
In the 48 hours of hard work, David only had 5 hours of sleep during this event.
